MyDay Astro works out a daily Vedic reading from your birth chart. To do that, it needs some personal details. This page sets out exactly what we collect, why we need it, and what we do with it.

1. What we collect

  • Sign-in details. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email. If you use Apple's “Hide My Email”, we only ever see the private relay address Apple gives us.
  • Birth details. Your date, time and place of birth, and your gender. The app cannot produce a chart without them.
  • Your name. Asked when you set up your profile and stored on your account, so your readings can address you by name.
  • What you do in the app. Readings you save, your notification time, your language, and any ratings or feedback you give us.
  • Usage and diagnostics. Which screens and features get used, and crash information.
  • Device basics. A notification token so we can send your daily push, your device type, and your app version.
  • An account identifier that we generate when you sign in, used to store your data against your account.
  • If you choose to message us on WhatsApp. We will see your number and your message, the same as in any WhatsApp chat. The app itself never asks you for a phone number.
  • Demo mode. In demo mode you are not signed in as yourself. You share one demonstration account with everyone else who uses it. We collect no name, email or birth details, and nothing is tied to you personally. But anything you save, rate or write in demo mode is stored on that shared account, where other people using it can see it. Please do not enter anything private in demo mode.

This app shows no ads, contains no advertising identifier, and does no tracking.

2. Notifications

We ask your permission before sending the first notification. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.

3. Where your data is stored

Your profile and chart are stored with Google Firebase. Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and is encrypted at rest, with access controls on top.

4. Services we use

  • Google and Apple Sign-In - how you sign in.
  • Firebase - stores your data, sends notifications, and runs our backend and basic analytics. Your next day's reading is prepared on our servers each evening, so it is ready when you open the app.
  • OpenAI - a generative AI model writes your readings. We send it your first name and the astrological values worked out from your chart, such as your nakshatra, the current transits and your dasha period. We do not send your email, or your birth date, time or place.
  • VedicAstroAPI - calculates your chart and the day's planetary positions. We send it your birth details.
  • Our own servers, hosted on Vercel - work out some readings, such as Saturn Retrograde and the career reading. We send them your first name and your birth details.
  • WhatsApp - only if you choose to message us.

5. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. We do not delete accounts automatically if you stop using the app.

To delete everything, go to Settings → My Account → Delete account. Your profile and chart data are removed from our active database straight away, and any copies left in backups or logs are gone within 30 days. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes the Sign in with Apple connection.

You can edit your birth details and contact details at any time in the app.

If you cannot open the app, use our account and data deletion request form with the email you signed in with.

6. Children

MyDay Astro is for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where local law sets a higher age of consent, we rely on a parent or guardian's consent below that age. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.

7. Your rights

We process your data because you chose to give it to us and the app needs it to work. You can withdraw that consent by deleting your account.

Under the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, get a copy of it, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority. Most of this you can do inside the app.

8. Data leaving your country

Firebase, OpenAI and Vercel run servers outside India, including in the United States. Your data may be handled there, under different privacy laws. We rely on those providers' own safeguards.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change anything meaningful, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app where it makes sense.

10. We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. MyDay Astro is free and has no in-app purchases or subscriptions, so we never collect payment information.
